A scream pierced through the dusk-lit sky as she stumbled upon something that wasn't supposed to be there. The flashlight she held in her hand, began to shake, as she attempted to focus the light on what she tripped over. It was something she never dreamed of seeing; a dead body. She couldn't help but stare at the body she had just found - it was the missing boy from the news! The young girl didn't know what she was supposed to do. She didn't have a phone but she was close to home, so she did the next best thing: run. She was still freaked out, but the child slowly stood up, avoiding the body as best as she could before bolting into a run to return home. She yanked the door open to her two story home, as soon as she reached the porch. She was shaking, tears flooding her face as she ran through her home. Her parents were setting the table, getting ready for dinner when they noticed their child, shaking in the hallway. Both parents ran towards her, concern filled their eyes. "What's wrong, Rachel?" Her mother said, petting her hair trying to calm her daughter down. "I-I" Rachel tried before realizing she was still too shaken to speak. She gulped a couple of breaths before trying again. "I think I just found that boy," She said quietly, adverting her gaze from her mother to her father before going back towards the door to show her parents. "Rach, wait!" Her father said, causing her to pause for a brief moment and turning around. "We should call the police." Relieved, she nodded, and her parents guided her back to the kitchen, her mother making her some chocolate milk, to help calm her nerves. She could hear her father on the phone with the cops, knowing that they would arrive soon after. Rachel retold the story again for the cops and pointed them where the boys body had been found. They marked the area as a crime scene and she was whisk back away to her parents home, no longer needed for questions. The next day, it was all over the news. The missing boy, Allen, had been found and his parents were devistated, still hoping to catch whomever hurt their son. The newswoman stated that the detectives on the case wouldn't rest until the killer was caught - and Rachel hoped that he'd be caught soon or she could be next.
